During the recent convocation ceremony at Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, a total of 148 graduands were awarded first class degrees.
This achievement was highlighted by the Vice Chancellor and President of the University, Professor Ademola Tayo, in his address.
Notably, Elomezino Ifogahale, a full-time student, achieved a remarkable 4.88 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), while Glory Michael, a part-time student, earned a 4.56 CGPA.
Professor Tayo also announced that 160 graduands received PhDs across various disciplines, while 2,442 undergraduates obtained their diplomas and degrees
.
Additionally, 400 students graduated from the postgraduate school, bringing the total number of graduands to 2,842.
The ceremony also saw the conferment of honorary doctoral degrees on two distinguished individuals comprising Chief Wole Olanipekun, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and Bukola Smith, Managing Director of FSDH Merchant Bank.
Furthermore, Professor Tayo emphasized that all of the University’s academic programmes are accredited by the National University Commission (NUC), International Board of Education (IBE), USA, and the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA) USA.
He also proudly noted that 22 out of the 100 students who achieved first-class honors in the Nigerian Law School bar examination were from Babcock University.
