Aston Villa have announced the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton, adding the talented midfielder to their squad. Onana, who played every minute of Belgium’s Euro 2024 campaign, joins Villa in preparation for next season’s Champions League.
The 22-year-old midfielder arrives as a key replacement for Douglas Luiz. Onana, valued at £50M, is known for his defensive skills and ability to regain possession.
Onana began his professional career at Hamburger SV in Germany before moving to LOSC Lille in France. He transferred to Everton in 2022 for £33m, where he made 72 appearances and scored four goals.
He is one of several new additions to Aston Villa this season, alongside Jaden Philogene, Ross Barkley, Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Samuel Iling-Junior, and others. Villa is actively strengthening their squad with the aim of competing in the Champions League and securing further European qualifications.
