Reports suggest that Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos could be on his way to Atletico Madrid, with Spanish journalist Siro López, claiming that Atletico has already secured an agreement with the player. However, Mundo Deportivo now reports that there is no such deal in place.
Sources within Atletico Madrid have reportedly denied any interest in Ceballos. Instead, the club is said to be eyeing midfielders such as Mats Wieffer from Feyenoord and Matt O’Riley from Celtic as potential signings.
Ceballos, who recently signed a contract extension with Real Madrid, keeping him at the club until 2027, has been a key player for the team this season. However, with competition for places in midfield fierce at Real Madrid, Ceballos may be tempted by the prospect of regular first-team football at Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid is currently in a strong position in La Liga, sitting at the top of the table. The addition of a player of Ceballos’ quality could further strengthen their squad as they look to maintain their lead.
