Registration for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private students has commenced. Here are essential facts and information to guide prospective applicants:
- The examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT), with multiple-choice papers fully CBT and hybrid exams for essay and practical tests.
- Online mock exams will be available for interested candidates who register for the exam to practise with the testing environment ahead of time.
- The registration fee is non-refundable, and candidates are advised to check the website for the exam timetable.
- Entries must be uploaded with passport photographs captured with a digital camera (Microsoft HD 3000).
- Passport photographs must be of good quality, black and white, JPEG File only (275 x 314 pixels, 72 dpi resolution), with a contrasting background.
- Candidates must study the regulations and syllabuses for the exam, which can be downloaded from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) website (www.waecnigeria.org) using the registration PIN.
- Candidates must appear in mufti and are not allowed to carry arms or wear professional uniforms. Smoking is also prohibited in the examination halls.
- Candidates who sit for the examination in more than one centre will have their results cancelled.
- Mobile phones and electronic gadgets are not allowed in the hall, and defaulters will have their entire results cancelled.
- Candidates must bring their original admission notice to the examination hall.
- Results of candidates who engage in examination malpractice will be cancelled, and such candidates may be prosecuted.
