
Mr & Miss UNILAG 2024 Awarded Land Ownership
The winners of Mr & Miss UNILAG 2024, Michael Adekola and Haneefah Sanda, were officially awarded land ownership papers on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, thanks to Adbond Harvest and Homes. The real estate company, a sponsor of the Mr & Miss UNILAG 2024 event held on Friday, July 5, 2024, pledged to award land parcels to the winners.
During a formal signing ceremony to officially transfer the 150-square-metre land in Obafemi, Ogun State, to the winners, Kate Nwagu, the General Wealth Advisory Manager of Adbond Harvest and Homes, congratulated Michael Adekola and Haneefah Sanda on their achievements.

LASU Set for 97th Inaugural Lecture
The 97th Inaugural Lecture of Lagos State University (LASU), titled “The Logic in Corruption and Development: Is Corruption Bad? Is Development Good? – Credence and Perception,” will be delivered by Professor Olufunsho Abayomi Omobitan, Professor of Economics and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), on Tuesday, July 30th at 3 PM.
Professor Olufunsho Abayomi Omobitan is a distinguished Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, LASU. His primary areas of specialization are Development Economics and Public Sector Economics. He has served multiple terms as Head of the Department from 1992 to 1994, 1994 to 1998, 2011 to 2012, 2012 to 2014, and 2016 to 2018. Additionally, he coordinated the universityโs esteemed Master of Business Administration (MBA) program from 1998 to 2004.

Books for Launch at UNILAG
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) will host a book presentation on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 12 noon in the Faculty of Science Board Room.
The event will showcase books authored by faculty members from the Department of Chemistry, including Prof. Kehinde Olayinka, Prof. Tolulope Fasina, Dr. Aderonke Oyeyiola, Dr. Temilola Oluseyi, Dr. Oluwatoyin Fatunsin, and Mr. Trust Ekama. The titles to be presented are: “Chemical Safety & Security in the Laboratory โ A Comprehensive Guide,” “Instructorโs Manual,” “Chemical Safety & Security in the Laboratory โ Workbook for Students,” and “Chemical Safety & Security in the Laboratory โ PowerPoint Slides for Instructors.”
The publication of these books was funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) through the University of Lagos Research Management Office.
