The National Examinations Council of Nigeria (NECO) is taking steps to ensure seamless examinations in the future.
The council has launched seven new state offices across Nigeria, with a groundbreaking ceremony in Lafia, Nasarawa State, and Lagos.
According to the Registrar, Professor Ibrahim Wushishi, this development will serve as a model of excellence in examination administration in Nigeria.
The new state offices will be in Abia, Jigawa, Lagos, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, and Nasarawa States.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, expressed optimism that the project will bring a brighter future for Nigerian children.
He promised that the state offices would be completed quickly to provide a conducive work environment for NECO staff.
The Registrar noted that the project is a direct result of the Federal Government’s commitment to infrastructural development in the educational sector.
He disclosed that the project is one of seven capital projects captured in this year’s budget for NECO, demonstrating the government’s dedication to providing necessary resources for institutions like NECO to fulfill their mandates effectively.
