Nollywood veteran actress, Ngozi Ezeonu, has blamed journalists for the death rumour peddled about her.
The actress after some silence came on her Instagram page to clarify the situation, saying journalists should always leave out any information they are not sure of.
“In Journalism what you do when in doubt is to leave out. If you cannot get across to the person to at least confirm the story, you don’t post,” she said.
She wondered why people should post wrong information just because of seeking a large following.
“Why would anybody want to hurt each other because they want people to follow them?” she asked.
Ezeonu added that in the video on her Instagram page, she expressed she had lost a very close friend of hers and posted a half-burnt candle.
She explained, “I lost a very close friend of mine; I posted a candle, a half-burnt candle, and they now put my picture on that candle and everybody is saying that I died. It is wrong. I’m alive and healthy, please.”
She condemned the actions of those behind the wrong information, expressing her admiration for those who reached out to her to confirm the story.
However, reacting to the comment session on the posted video, Ogudu Clifford blamed the actress that she should have explained and clarified what she posted; hence she wouldn’t have been misunderstood.
