Nollywood actress, Jaiye Kuti, has advocated the creation of a purse insurance to avoid online begging among veterans.
She said if a fund or purse had been created years ago, many of them might not still be suffering from illnesses.

The outspoken actress made this known during a media chat where she had to clear the air about what she described as a misconstrued statement by journalists.
She stated that she didn’t mean to lambaste Nollywood veterans who were begging on the social media, but to emphasize the need to create a purse for insurance.
She stated, “Our elders have been there; they started this job and helped lay foundation of what many of us enjoy today, and for this reason I would never ridicule them or speak down on them.
“I was only clamouring for insurance to take care of them in their old age,” she expressed.
She however, disagreed with another Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola, who had expressed that entertainers should speak more and not die in silence.
