The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Centre for Entrepreneurship & General Studies (CE&GS) has made efforts to prepare youths as entrepreneurs.
This effort was displayed recently as CE&GS inducted 58 youths into the directorate’s Incubation Centre and Mentorship scheme.
According to Miriam Obierika, the event which was organized virtually, saw the incubatees being encouraged to embrace the incubation process as a means to realizing their visions and contributing to the economy while leaving a lasting impact.
During the event, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters, represented by Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Isaac Buswart, emphasised the need to equip young talents with necessary tools, knowledge and mentorship to enable them transform their visions into successful and thriving enterprises.
He noted that entrepreneurship plays a pivotal role in driving the economic growth and societal progress, especially in a world characterised by rapid change and innovation.
The Director CE&GS, Dr Samuel Awolumate, administered the incubatees’ pledge to the inductees, urging them to embrace the incubation process as a means to realising their vision and contribute to the economy while leaving a lasting impact.
