The Afropop singer, Stanley Omah Didia aka Omah Lay, has saluted Davido, Burnaboy, Wizkid, and Olamide in a rare display of humility uncommon with a Nigerian musician of his calibre.
He lauded these singers, whom he classified as the previous generation, for paving the way for him to occupy the present status he obtains in the Nigerian music industry.
Lay, in a recent interview he granted expressed, “I feel like I wouldn’t have been here if it weren’t for the previous generation- Burna, Wiz, Davido, and Olamide – they are the reason why I am here right now and I am doing it like this.”
He mentioned that these Afrobeats singers were the reason he had risen to stardom regarding how they had created an easy path for the upcoming generation to leverage.
According to him, he was unsure of what he was doing differently, “I am just doing me and it is what it is,” he submitted.
A singer, producer, and songwriter, he came to the limelight in 2020 after he released his single, ‘Bad Influence.’
