Nigeria has successfully secured a spot in the knockout stages of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau in the decisive Group A match at the Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny, Abidjan, on Monday.
In the wake of a crucial win against host Ivory Coast, Coach Jose Peseiro implemented several changes to the starting lineup. Kenneth Omeruo assumed the captaincy instead of Troost-Ekong, and Joe Aribo stepped in for Alex Iwobi.
