Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ijebu-ode, Ogun State, has suspended its second-semester examinations following the murder of a final-year student, Ahmed Ayinla Fabiyi, by suspected cult members.
According to reports, Fabiyi, a History and Diplomatic Studies major, was forcibly removed from the examination hall on Wednesday, brutalized, and killed with machetes.
In response, the university’s Deputy Registrar, Babatunde Odugbesan, announced the indefinite suspension of all ongoing examinations on campus.
The statement assured students of their safety and urged calm as investigations into the murder continue.
Examinations scheduled for Thursday, July 4, and Friday, July 5, 2024, have been postponed.
The management will issue further notices on the resumption of examinations.
