The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has said that it only regulates the process of admission into Universities and other tertiary institutions in Nigeria and does not offer admission.
According to JAMB X handles @JAMBHQ (formerly Twitter), once a University offers a candidate admission, JAMB only has the constitutional responsibility to approve or disapprove the admission.
According to JAMB, “JAMB only regulates the process against abuse and prejudice. Once an institution proposes a candidate for admission, JAMB approves or disapproves after considering the requirements.”
It will be recalled that there have been a series of complaints from many candidates about JAMB not giving them admission despite performing well in the examination.
Many have alleged that the admission process is shrouded with many errors which are affecting students negatively.
