Afrobeats sensation Yemi Alade has shared her secret to avoiding controversy in the entertainment industry, where scandals often plague celebrities’ personal lives.
Speaking at the listening party of her new album, “Rebel Queen,” in Lagos, Alade revealed that she deals with criticism by ignoring it.
“I don’t dwell on it too much,” she said. “I’m just living my life, as it’s the only one I have.”
Alade added that she disregards anything that doesn’t resonate with her and keeps moving forward, acknowledging that “everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
Earlier, Alade described “Rebel Queen” as a diverse album that blends various genres to appeal to music lovers worldwide.
“I created this album to celebrate the African music I grew up loving, along with the diverse genres that excite me now,” she explained.
“Highlife and other African genres inspired me to create something that would resonate with Africans and music enthusiasts globally.”
