It’s a fashion rule that you don’t wear native attire on lace-up, and that sneakers may not properly complement an ‘ankara, senator wear’ and other traditional clothes, but nowadays youths have broken these rules on several occasions. Here are samples of what trends today in fashion, which are acceptable.
‘Ankara’ on Sneakers
Today, ladies wear ‘ankara as gowns and tops on sneakers in a way that they will blend well and make an exquisite appearance.
Senators on Sneakers and Lace-up
It is not normal and out of fashion order to wear senator on loafers, but today, men in a radical manner, are wearing senators on sneakers, and they blend well, appearing pleasantly acceptable.
Ankara on Jeans
It is common today to see many ladies beautifully clothed in ankara over jeans with high heels to match.
Ankara Gown on Heels
Women, in what is now fashionable, also put on ankara gowns on high heels with colours that combine with one another.
Dansiki on Tennis
Dansiki on tennis is at present common with ladies. Ladies who wear them look great and pretty in as much as they choose colours that match very well.
Hats on ‘Ankara’ short gowns and heels
This is another trending fashion where ladies wear ‘ankara’ short gowns complementing it with hats and high heels. Ladies who wear these look differently acceptable.
‘Ankara’ Blouse on Skirts
Anytime these are worn, ladies appear unique, attractive and smart, provided they are well-tailored.
Others
Also trending now are ‘aso Ebi with nectar accessories. ‘Kaftans,’ senator-style outfits, ‘isi-agu’ or any other traditional cloth are worn on sneakers or tennis shoes.
‘Ankara’ pants with simple coloured polo or T-shirt with shoes to match are also common with youths, and they make them look great.

Growing up some clothing and grooming rules were never to be broken.. you certainly appear to others as one who lacked exposure…an example is wearing sneakers with ankara….
However today it’s the new normal…no doubt the definition of culture as the average way of life of a group of people over a certain period…is true.
Culture changes…if the styles remains decent then its good to go
