As students, youths are privileged to be in this great information technology age of limitless digital opportunities and some desirous of supporting themselves through school, this will guide you on legit ways you can make income from the online space.
So…
After you may have gotten your desired gadgets, the next step or question that comes to mind is…
“How can I engage with my device profitably?”
Or…
Taken from another twist…
How can my device benefit me?
What is in it for me, WII FM…a good radio channel to always tune to…LOL!
So, now that you’re tuned to “WII FM” let’s get into some details on the list.
Let’s get started.
1. CRYPTOCURRENCY TRADING
Top on the list is cryptocurrency trading.
According to an online dictionary, “Cryptocurrency is digital currency in which transactions are verified and records maintained by a decentralized system using cryptography, rather than by a centralized authority.”
The interesting thing here is the “decentralized system” factor that gives some form of freedom and security (though a lot will argue about it) with your financial transactions.
But hey, that’s not our interest right now.
Research shows that “Nigerians are said to be the most crypto-savvy population on the African continent, ranking as the top country for crypto adoption in Africa and 11th overall. 35% of the country’s population aged between ages 18 and 60, was reported to have owned or traded cryptocurrencies in 2022.”
Today, there are quite a lot of trading platform that you can explore to make some income for yourself.
Now…
Before I quickly outline the steps, I’d like to also remind you about what I said earlier.
See:
I know how hard it is coming across money these days (not to mention the excruciating pain a lot is going through right now in my home country Nigeria due to the extremely harsh economy).
To be my brother’s keeper, I won’t be a party to you losing your hard earned funds in an adventure you’re not properly trained on.
Now, take this small warning again:
“DON’T DO CRYPTO IF YOU’VE NOT GOTTEN ADEQUATE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.”
See:
I know you may have heard about how crypto can make you big bucks, but please don’t be in a hurry to jump on the train without the proper training and regular practice.
Again…
Make sure you’ve practiced enough (there are quite a lot of platform you can test what you’ve learnt before you start to invest real money) and you are confidence to enter the unpredictable trading space.
Now when getting started with your crypto journey, you can decide on which exchange to use depending on the regulation in your country.
Today, a couple of countries across the globe frown at crypto related stuffs, but then, just like the internet, it’s here to stay.
Sorry…
…it’s one of those disruptive technologies that we’ll have to live with.
For me, I am particularly happy that cryptocurrency is taking off the grip our traditional banking system has on us.
You don’t want to imagine what people went through, some time ago, in the hands of banks in my home country.
Really, you don’t.
Let’s leave that and get into the basics of crypto trading:
Making Money with Crypto Trading
- Get training
- Register with a crypto exchange (I recommend Binance…it’s only a recommendation). You can also try out platforms like Coinbase, Remittano, HaggleX, Cex.io, Luno & Paxful.
- Practice and learn discipline, patience (do demo trading on Binance Test)
- Fund your account (start with a very small amount of money- say $5-10) after you may have practiced and gained confidence after a minimum of 6 months (just my recommendation again, it could be more depending on you).
- Start trading
- Don’t be greedy or fearful
Sincerely…I wish it was as easy as this, but it’s not.
I’ve been there and done that.
I’ve also been burnt severally (my hard earned money gone) so I know what am saying.
PLEASE TREAD SOFTLY!
2. AFFILIATE MARKETING
What is Affiliate Marketing?
A popular ecommerce site offering affiliate marketing benefits to interested prospects share their view…
“Affiliate marketing is a process where publishers earn a commission by promoting a product or service made by another retailer or advertiser using an affiliate link. The affiliate partner is rewarded a payout for providing a specific result to the retailer or advertiser.”
In simple terms, affiliate marketing involves you selling some other person’s stuff and getting a commission off it.
The advantage going the affiliate marketing route to earn money online is the fact that you’d be promoting products and (or) services that you did not create but experienced and then taking it to the market square – of course, not for free.
Affiliate Marketing Strategies
There are a couple of tricks you can explore to get commissions with affiliate marketing these days.
a. Traditional Word of Mouth Marketing (Testimonials): Like I mentioned earlier, it’s effective marketing when you do word of mouth marketing based on your personal experience with product(s) or service(s). For example, you’d probably be excited, pumped to want to watch a movie your friend told you about. Testimonials also belongs here.
b. Sharing a link (many people hate links these days, except from trusted sources): It’s common place for most company offering affiliate marketing partnerships to urge you to share a link telling your friends about your experience with them.
c. Content Marketing: Here you produce content where you recommend company you’re in partnership with. For me, I’ve used a great Do It Yourself, DIY, guide to generate income simply by recommending company’s product.
d. Social Media Campaign: This is similar to sharing a link but you share your social media handles.
Next week we shall talk about how to start a blog (or vlog), freelance work (upwork, fiverr, et al), Digital Marketing and other tips.
NOW, over to you!
I would love to hear from you.
