
Scholars Gather at UNILAG to Shape Africa’s Future
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently hosted a symposium through its Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), reinforcing its status as a leading intellectual center for discussions on Africa and its diasporas.
The two-day event, held at the Arthur Mbanefo Digital Research Center (AMDRC) from June 25 to June 26, 2024, was themed “Recall and Reconnect; Reground and Relaunch.” These words captured the essence of the symposium, emphasizing the importance of reflecting on the past and strategizing for the future.

Baze University Students Participate in Democracy Summit
Students from the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences at Baze University recently took part in the “State of Democracy in Africa” summit held in Abuja. This event was co-hosted by the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library and the Shehu Musa Yara’adua Center.
Sponsored by the Ford Foundation and Trust Africa, the summit provided valuable discussions on governance in Africa, political involvement of youth, and future prospects for the continent.

Babcock University Hosts Inaugural Sports Tourney
The inaugural Babcock University Sports Invitational Championship (BUIC) which commenced on Wednesday, June 26 ended on Friday, June 28, 2024.
The three-day event featured participation from four other faith-based private universities in the South-West region: Adeleke University in Ede, Bowen University in Iwo, Mountain Top University in Ibafo, and Trinity University in Lagos.
