When you keep up good hygiene, you feel better and healthier. It might be detrimental when you don’t pay attention to personal hygiene that will help maintain sound health, and as they say, health is wealth. Your academic attainment and social standing are only meaningful when you have sound health that will maintain them.
So how do you achieve good health? Here are some steps you can take:
- Bathe regularly, preferably two times in a day; in the morning and before you sleep.
- Brush your teeth twice daily and floss them to avoid mouth odour.
- Wash your underwear, singlet, panties and boxers. On a daily basis, Boys and Girls should change their briefs and panties.
- Girls should keep themselves extremely neat during menstrual period. Don’t be careless about menstrual stuffs. Dispose them off properly.
- Wash your clothes after wear each day with good soap or detergent. Wear clean clothes everyday. You may apply perfume or roll on under your armpit to avoid fowl odour.
Always cut your hair low to avoid lice. If you must keep it growing, then keep it neat. Apply pomade or use any recommended hair cream to avoid dandruff.

- Keep your shoes neat, especially the inner part. Polish them and spread your pair of socks under the sun or wash them after each use.
- Cover your mouth when you yawn, cough or sneeze. Always have handkerchief on yourself.

- Clean your room, toilet and bathroom regularly.
- Sweep the floor of your room regularly.
- Always throw away left over, decayed and spoilt food.
