Architect Taofik Adegboyega Popoola is the Founder and Managing Principal of Artec Practice Ltd, a firm of professional Architects and Project Managers that have harmoniously worked together for almost 40 years now.
Born over 60 years, Architect Popoola, anative of Offa, Kwara State, Nigeria had attended St Mark Primary School and Offa Grammar School before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State between 1981 and 1986, and obtained B.Sc and M.Sc degrees respectively in Architecture in fulfilment of his childhood passion for structures and designs.
Architect Popoola was the recipient of M.O Onafowokan Academic Prize in 1985 and received accolades for his drawing work at the M.Sc. level.

Career
The veteran Architect who has been in the practice of Architecture for almost 40 years now began work as Trainee Architect at Egbor and Associates, Zaria, Kaduna State between 1983 and 1985.He was a Graduate Architect at Engineering Services Agency Ltd, Sokoto, Sokoto State between 1986-1987.Architect Popoola thereafter proceeded to Triad Associates, Kaduna, Kaduna State where he worked as a Pioneer Architect from 1987 to 1994.

Selected Accomplishments
Architect Popoola who has been involved in a broad range of high-profile projects is a prominent and prolific Nigerian Architect known for his inventive and elegant structural designs. His flair for design and details is evident in most of his completed and ongoing projects such as the Federal Judicial Service Commission’s Examinations Centre and Liaison Office, Lekki, Lagos and Asokoro Conference Centre, Abuja.
Among other projects are the design and supervision of the Shell/Imani Housing Estate, Abuja; the Hilltop Retreat Centre, Abuja; the New Government House for Katsina State Government and also the supervision and project management of the Stanbic IBTC Head Office building project in Lagos. Earlier in his career among other building projects in 1990, he designed the three building types typifying the political party offices nationwide.
Architect Popoola also bagged African Students’ Union Pan Africa Award of Excellence in 2014 and Offa Youth Forum Kaduna Award of Professional Excellence in 2012 in recognition of his passion for all-round excellence.
Passion
This professional Architect that is fully registered with the Nigerian Institute of Architects; the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria and the Association of Consulting Architects Nigeria is passionate about youth development, empowerment and mentoring, providing relational support to help the youth around him to believe in their abilities to overcome difficult life challenges.
Marriage
He is married to his magnificent wife, Mrs. Sherifat Popoola and the marital union is blessed with four lovely children.
