The Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, transition to womanhood has now become public knowledge, as he bared it all to Nigerians about how he changed from a man to a woman.
Speaking to Charly Boy recently, Bobrisky disclosed that his transition to womanhood began as a strategy that he adopted while selling unisex clothes as an undergraduate student at the University of Lagos.
He disclosed, “About nine years ago, I was at the University of Lagos studying Accounting. I also had a side hustle, I was selling unisex clothes. Most times I try the female wears on myself and I love the outfit.
“From there, I moved to female hairstyles to makeup and more women were patronizing my business. So I decided to keep crossdressing because it was lucrative, ” He said.
The crossdresser stated that he was completely unaware that the strategy she adopted would become a reality as he gradually became a woman.
According to him, people were complimenting him that he looked better as a woman than a man, which was how he ended up being Bobrisky.
He expressed that gradually as he gained courage, coming to the full realization that he had become a transgender woman, even though then, his parent was not favourably disposed towards his actions.
However now, he expressed his gratitude to the same parent who, according to him, might have given their nod and allowed him to freely express himself.
Bobrisky’s transgender journey has been embroiled in controversy, smearing his image, while many are casting aspersions at him for being queer.
Recently Bobrisky received a barrage of criticism, having been awarded the Best Dress Woman during the premier of a movie entitled ‘Ajakaye.’
Observers in the movie industry believe Bobrisky did not merit an award meant for a complete woman.
