Victor Osimhen, the reigning Africa Player of the Year, has touched down in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire, ahead of the crucial Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash between Nigeria and South Africa set to take place on Wednesday.
The towering forward, instrumental in Nigeria’s journey through the championship, exhibiting relentless effort and skillful passes, was granted clearance to participate in the pivotal match only on Tuesday evening.
Joining his teammates for a training session at the Stade Annexe in Bouake on Tuesday evening, Osimhen underwent final assessments by the team’s medical staff, who ultimately deemed him fit for the upcoming encounter.
His availability for the game was confirmed after he arrived at the specially designated Games Village on Tuesday afternoon.
Osimhen’s journey to Bouake was delayed, as he remained at the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan on Monday night due to discomfort in his abdomen.
However, after thorough evaluation and necessary rest, he is now prepared to contribute to Nigeria’s quest for victory in the semi-final showdown.
