The Nigerian super striker and Napoli forward has made Nigeria and Africa proud in the 2023 Ballon d’Or Ranking as he clinched the 8th position.
The new ranking has seen him beat the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Luka Modric, Karim Benzema, Likay Gundogan and Mohammed Salah.
Being ranked number 8, he has joined other African legends like Nwankwo Kanu, President George Wear of Liberia, Sadio Mane and Salah who were also among the 2023 nominees list.
The full ranking of the 2023 Ballon d’Or awards had Lionel Messi clinched the trophy, followed by Erlin Haaland, Kylian Mbape, Kelin De Bruyne, Rodri, Vinicius Jnr, Julian Alvarez and Osimhen respectively.
In his remarkable exploit, Osimhen has made history playing his football in the Italian Serie A, scoring goals and coming out tops to win the 2022/2023 Capocannoniere award for top scorers.
