There are indications that recently acclaimed record-breaker, Damilola Adeparusi, known as Chef Dammy stands a chance for recognition by Guinness World Record (GWR) if she follows and adheres strictly to the rules guiding GWR.
Investigations revealed that insinuations from different quarters that Dammy has to wait for one year before attempting to set another record is unfounded, and there is no modicum of truth in such opinions held by commentators because, there is nowhere on the GWR website where prospective record breakers are asked to wait for one year before the current record can be broken.
After another Nigerian lady, Chef Dammy was said to have broken the record of 93 hours 11 minutes cook-a-thon record set by Chef Hilda Barci, many people have said Chef Dammy has to wait for one year before making her attempt at setting a new record
Just few days, Black Campus Magazine reported that Chef Dammy, a student of Federal University of Oye Ekiti, surpassed Chef Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon record which after a thorough reviewed was put at 93 hours 11 minutes
Chef Dammy announced through her Twitter page in the early hours of Tuesday that she had cooked for 120 hours, meaning she has exceeded Chef Baci’s GWR. However, this is subject to a thorough review of all the evidence by Guinness World Record.
Baci had beaten India’s chef, Lafa Tondon’s record of 87 hours 45 minutes and 100 seconds to emerge as the new world record holder.
Baci’s victory was announced recently by Guinness World Records as the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.
However, the moment Dammy set out to beat Baci’s record, she was faced with stiff opposition following criticisms and condemnation by some social media bloggers and celebrities who are close to the former.
