Following his comment where Anthony Joshua failed to mention Nigeria in his post-match speech, Nigerian citizens have begun to express different opinions. A fan expressed that Nigerians shouldn’t have expected Joshua to mention their country when they failed to support him the time he needed them most.
@iam Bonex said when Joshua used to mention Nigeria, he was losing his belt up and down, so he wouldn’t blame him.
Both Blaze9330 and Yuozee stated that Nigerians were against him, insulting him during his downtime in 2022.
However, Dammy Adenuga expressed that he shouldn’t have failed to recognize Nigeria, as “…the whole Nigeria was awake at 2 am for him.”
Joshua in his post-match speech had acknowledged fans from London, Cameroon, and Saudi Arabia, but did not make mention of Nigeria the country of his birth, even though he claims to be a British citizen.
It was victory time for Joshua as he dominated Francis Ngannou, a Cameroonian, in a heavyweight bout that took place in Saudi Arabia on Friday morning.
Joshua floored Ngannou once in round one, and twice in round two, leaving the UFC fighter completely mesmerized after being thoroughly pummelled.
As a result of his victory, Joshua earned $50m while Ngannou pocketed $20m.
