One Student, each from all the local government areas in Niger state has benefited from the 100 percent sponsorship programme announced by Newgate University, Minna. According to the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council Newgate University, Mallam Hassan Nuhu, the sponsorship will afford talented and deserving students access to higher education in the University.
Mallam Nuhu also stated that the gesture will also make the University become a community-based institution that impacts positively on the lives of the youths and people of Niger State.
He added that by investing in higher education human capital development will be enhanced as it will promote equal access to education in the state and the country at large.
He disclosed that another scheme of the initiative will have poor students enjoy 50 percent discount rates in various courses through the Madukuwa Scholarship Foundation, adding that the gesture aligns with the vision and mission of the University.
For the 100 percent scholarship scheme, the institution announced 44 beneficiaries across courses such as Mass Communication, International Relations, Medical Laboratory Technology, Public Health Sciences, ICT, Accounting, Cyber-Security, Software Engineering and Nursing.
It announced another 42 beneficiaries will enjoy a 50% scholarship, spread across programmes like Mass Communication, Accounting, ICT and Business Administration.
