There are indications that students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) may be warming up for a fresh increase in school fees. The speculation is rife that College of Health Sciences students being the highest fee payers would be the most affected, should this anticipated fee increase become a reality.
Our source who does not want her name in print said that this may eventually cause trouble in the school if not properly handled as previous increments in school fees had caused crises and demonstrations in the school.
In another development, the election into various positions of the Students Union Government (SUG) will soon commence. The election will be the second after the union was reinstated. Many students have already stepped up their campaigns for the different posts in the Student Union Government of the school.
