OAU’s Don Emerges Africa Outstanding Scholar
A Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Professor Ganiyu Adesola Aderounmu, has been honoured with the Award of Africa.
As an active researcher, he has received several grants and scholarships. Within the last nine years, Professor Aderounmu has successfully trained 12 PhD and 35 MSc. candidates in Computer Science. The widely traveled Professor has several Theses to his credit as well as over 90 published articles in journals and referred Conference Proceedings.
Dentistry Students at UniJos Face Academic Stagnation
Students admitted to study Dentistry at the University of Jos in 2015 have found themselves stuck in their academic pursuits, facing a frustrating lack of progress. Despite being in the program for nearly nine years, which should have been a six-year course, these students have not only failed to graduate but have also been stuck in the same class since 2021.

Women Have the Power to Effect Change
Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), highlighted the transformative potential of women in driving positive change and dismantling harmful norms.
She emphasized this during the launch of a two-week training program conducted by LASU in partnership with the United Nations Population Funds (UNFPA) and the Centre for Response and Prevention of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (CRPSGBV).
