IDAS helps address challenges faced by the global development community, by working with public sector entities, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, NGOs, philanthropic foundations, and the private sector on a variety of programmes.
IDAS in Africa is currently looking for experienced and motivated individuals to support its business development and project delivery efforts across West Africa.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidatewill lead our digital economy, youth, MSME and entrepreneurship solutions across West Africa. The individual will be responsible to develop and deliver a portfolio of projects working with major institutional donors focused on resolving youth unemployment in the region. The role will require travel across West Africa.
Qualifications and Experience
• First degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, ICT, or related field. A post graduate qualification in a relevant field would be essential.
• At least 10 years’ experience with major multilateral donor institutions working on various youth and MSME development programs, preferably in Africa.
• At least 5 years of experience supporting the development of the digital economy in a number of African countries.
• Track record of success in writing proposals and winning engagements.
• Established relationships and networks with institutional donors with a thematic focus on the digital economy, youth and entrepreneurship.
Skills and Competences
• Good communication (written and verbal),numeracy, presentation and analyticalskills
• IT proficiency, especially Microsoft Office
• Team player with leadership capability
• Excellent coordination and planning skills
