Their hopes for London 2012 were dashed by Cameroon in a penalty shootout; while Equatorial Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire stood in the way of their Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 dreams, respectively.
Having defeated Ethiopia in the second round, the Super Falcons now face Cameroon in a crucial match. The first leg will be held at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala on Friday evening.
Coach Randy Waldrum has selected a squad of 21 players for the trip, followed by a return leg in Abuja at the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Monday evening.
Before departing for Douala, the team will train at the MKO Abiola National Stadium on Wednesday evening, with the official training session scheduled at the Stade de la Reunification in Douala on Thursday evening.
As of Tuesday afternoon, only Toni Payne and Uchenna Kanu were expected to join the team camp, with Kanu arriving on Tuesday night and Payne expected on Wednesday morning.
