Liverpool’s club captain, Virgil van Dijk, has openly acknowledged his uncertainty about his future with the team following the announcement of Jurgen Klopp’s departure in the summer.
The Netherlands international, upon learning about Klopp’s impending exit, expressed contemplation about his continued tenure at Anfield.
In response to a reporter mentioning that his contract has 18 months remaining, Van Dijk remarked, “That is correct – good maths. Listen, I don’t know.
The club will have a big job on their hands, that is well known. To replace the manager and not only the manager, but the departing staff and numerous impending changes pose significant challenges.”
Acknowledging the transitional phase the club is entering, Van Dijk added, “So the club has a big job on its hands, and I am very curious about which direction it will go in.
But the timing of the announcements will determine our situation, and I can’t provide a definitive answer at this moment.”
