American International School of Abuja, has improved its multipurpose hall by installing materials that will enhance acoustic quality to help students improve in sports, music and drama.
This was disclosed by the Head of School, Greg Hughes, who said the school received, before installation, that the new acoustic profile will make the school’s musical and drama productions so much more enjoyable.
The new acoustic profile, according to him, will also allow noise to reverberate around the hall for its athletic teams to experience an authentic stadium-like atmosphere.
Expressing his satisfaction, Hughes said, “While we still have some way to go, the change has been extremely noticeable and once finished, our students will not only shine when they are up on stage, but they will sound appreciably better as well.”
Hughes added’ “We achieved a reverberation time of 2.5 seconds, which is suitable for serving the theatre while also maintaining a slight liveliness for sports events, preserving energy for students to engage in sports.
According to him, the acoustic team from Amman, Jordan after weeks of planning, made the project a fruition, employing sophisticated engineering and acoustic panels to enhance the acoustic environment in the multipurpose hall.
