Richard Hughes, the technical director of Bournemouth, is set to leave the club at the end of the season. The former Cherries midfielder has attracted interest from Liverpool and Roma.
Announcing his departure on the club’s website, Hughes expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work at AFC Bournemouth, first as a player and then in a leadership role.
He praised the talented individuals he worked with and highlighted the club’s remarkable journey, crediting owner Bill Foley and CEO Neill Blake for their ambition and commitment.
Hughes emphasized the club’s bright future, pointing to the exciting managerial prospect in Andoni and the strong playing squad. He stated that he would be leaving at the end of the season to allow the club ample time to plan for the future.
In response, Bill Foley thanked Hughes for his outstanding service and noted his role in maintaining the club’s competitive edge, with Bournemouth being a Premier League club for seven of the last nine seasons. He wished Hughes the best for the future.
