Nigeria’s U20 girls, known as the Falconets, are intensifying their training in preparation for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round against Burundi. The match is set to take place at the Azam Stadium Complex in Dar es Salaam on Sunday.
This fixture is part of the final qualifying round leading up to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup scheduled for August 30th to September 22nd in Colombia.
With a consistent presence in the finals since 2002, the Falconets are eager to secure another World Cup ticket.
The team arrived in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, undertaking light training sessions to overcome jet lag.
An official training session at the match venue is scheduled for Saturday to further prepare for the crucial encounter.
Led by Head Coach Chris Musa Danjuma and Captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem, the squad includes notable players such as Faith Omilana, Jumoke Alani, Taiwo Afolabi, and Opeyemi Ajakaye.
The match will be hosted in Dar es Salaam as Burundi lacks an approved stadium for international games.
