Abuja-based football club, Green Lock FC, has affirmed its unwavering support for the grassroots football development initiatives championed by the current administration of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau. The club’s management conveyed this commitment during a courtesy visit to the NFF President in his office on Wednesday.
In response, Gusau emphasized the NFF’s commitment to welcoming individuals with competence in football administration, particularly those dedicated to fostering grassroots development. He reiterated that grassroots development stands as a cornerstone in his administration’s pursuit of elevating Nigerian football to greater heights soon.
Addressing the representatives of Green Lock FC, Gusau offered words of encouragement for the club’s budding journey. “You are just starting, and I don’t want you to be deterred by anything because it has to be a gradual process. There are always challenges along the way when you start a new project but do not lose sight of your objective and vision. Allow your vision to guide you and help you overcome all hurdles and obstacles on the way to attaining your goals.”
Expressing admiration for the accomplishments of the Gusau administration, the Executive Vice Chairman of Green Lock FC, Mr. Olufunsho Peters, highlighted the importance of aligning with the NFF’s vision for grassroots football development. He stated, “We are here to identify with you, to key into your vision of grassroots football development. We are enamoured by what you have been doing and the way you have been going about setting Nigeria Football in a fresh and positive direction.”
Echoing these sentiments, the Chief Coordinating Executive of Green Lock FC, Mr. Olayinka Oladunjoye, commended the Gusau administration and affirmed that associating with the Federation is pivotal for the club’s progression. “We are not just here to show our faces to you, but we truly want to identify with you and your vision for Nigeria Football, and we want to be part of your dream to change the narrative of football in the country.”
The visit also saw the presence of key figures, including NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi; NFF Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire; and special assistant to NFF President, Abubakar Barde.
