Liverpool today defeated Wolves 3-1 in spite Wolves went into halftime in front via Hwang Hee-chan.
The Reds stormed back in the second-half via goals from Cody Gakpo, Andrew Robertson and Santi Beuno’s own goal to have a maximum three point.
Reflecting on the match, Klopp remarked, “The first half was so disappointing that we couldn’t possibly replicate that level of play in the second half. We were lacking in energy, and it seemed like some of our players were as well. We made tactical adjustments and swapped out one player to inject more natural speed up front. This helped us gain better control of the game, and we essentially changed everything during halftime.”
He continued, “The first half was a real struggle, but the second half showcased our true potential. Securing these three points was a massive achievement. It’s worth mentioning that Wolves posed several challenges for us, and we struggled to close the gaps.”
Discussing Liverpool’s squad depth, Klopp added, “We undeniably have a strong squad, and our bench today was exceptionally strong. There’s no shortage of quality in our team. However, it’s essential to remember that even with a talented squad, you can have off-days like we did in the first half. Now, we’ll take a day to rest and prepare for our upcoming Europa League match.”
