The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), University of Ilorin Chapter, has given an award of excellence to the General Manager of UNILORIN FM 89.3, Mr. Ibrahim Idris Alooma, in recognition of his tireless and immeasurable contribution towards youth development in the state.
The award presentation was a major highlight of the Kwara State Students Leadership and Entrepreneurship Summit held Wednesday (January 18, 2023) at the Faculty of Education Lecture Theatre.
Reacting after receiving the award, Mr. Alooma appreciated the association for deeming it fit to honour him, saying that it always gives him joy whenever he had the opportunity to help needy students, as the essence of humanity is assisting those in need.
Mr Alooma, however, used the occasion to implore the students to continue to demonstrate the responsible traits in them by obeying and respecting constituted authority, abiding by rules of engagement, and most importantly being reputable ambassadors of their parents.
The President of the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS), University of Ilorin Chapter, Musbau Alawaye, encouraged the teeming students of the institution to get their permanent voters cards (PVC) before the deadline for collection elapsed.
He said that UNILORIN FM Manager was honoured for supporting the Association’s programme, adding that the association also honoured the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman for his support to Kwara students, as well as the Managing Director of KEMSAN, Oluwaseun Owoseni.
