The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has commenced a certificate course in Professional Child Care. The institution will collaborate with Suppernannies Nigeria Limited to run the course.
According to a memo from the Directorate of Human Resources, signed by the Deputy Registrar on behalf of the Registrar, Muyiwa Harrison, the six-month certificate course is pioneered in the University by the Centre for Human Resources Development (CHRD) Kaduna.
The course is an immersive program with a two-week internship after the first three months, geared towards preparing learners to attend to children’s needs in a way that fosters early child development.
Prospective applicants are directed to contact CHRD at chrd@noun.edu.ng for more information regarding admission into the program.
NOUN is a federal open and distance learning institution, the first of its kind in the West African sub-region.
It is Nigeria’s largest tertiary institution, going by students’ enrollment and national spread.
