The National University Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team has paid a working visit to the University of Calabar on accreditation exercise of some departments.
This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Florence Banku Obi who received the team in the council chambers of the institution recently.
The departments scheduled for accreditation exercises were Political Science, Peace and Conflicts Studies, Social Work, Mass Communication, Forestry and Wildlife.
Receiving the team, Professor Obi commended the NUC for its tremendous activities at ensuring that the standard of education in Nigerian universities is uplifted.
She described NUC as the ‘third eye’ of every university, praising it for ensuring that necessary facilities in the universities are properly in place for quality academic delivery and excellence.
She sought that the team could adjust its template to be in tandem with the current realities, saying “time has changed.”
Speaking, the leader of the team, Professor Habu Mohammed, praised the University Management for its warm reception and hospitality which he described as exceptional.
He assured that the team was ready to discharge its duty without bias and sentiments in its effort to promote the standard of education.
