The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has appointed Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, as its Women’s Leader/Welfare of Members. This was contained in her Instagram post as she expressed her gratitude to AGN for finding her worthy to occupy the position.
She pledged to do her best to keep the flag of the Guild flying with the help of God, stressing the spirit of togetherness in the Association.
However, Rita had warned her Nollywood colleagues that she would not commit her financial support to the welfare of any actor who indulges in reckless life, smoking and drinking alcohol.
She said that despite warnings from the Ministry of Health that smokers are liable to die young, those who smoke and drink alcohol would not desist from the habits.
The actress warned that nobody should approach him through her comment section to ask for money in distress time.
Rita is married to Tony Edochie, the younger brother to Nollywood legend Pete Edochie, whom she has four children with.
In 2016, Rita, who is popular for acting as a mother in movies, received the Ambassador for Peace Award of the Universal Peace Federation.
She has acted in Love Delayed, Onye-Eze No More War, Chain Reaction, 1999, Abuja Boys and Censored Love.
