The Afrobeats queen, singer Tiwa Savage, has finally joined Nollywood by announcing her debut movie which is set to premiere this year.
The singer, who has won series of awards in her music career, disclosed through her Instagram page that she was so excited to announce her first feature film “Water and Garri” which is due to be released this year and to be shown in over 240 countries and worldwide.
The movie, which is a mixture of cinematography and story telling, was filmed in the neighbouring country, Ghana, featuring talented stars.
The story is about an adventurous fashion designer, Aisha, who returns to her native country having lost a family member when she was away to the United States for ten years.
Many negative events which can wreak emotional and physical havoc occured when she was away, but Aisha will have to contend with her worries and wounds, and reunite with family, old friends and love.
Speaking about the film, Savage expressed, “This has been over two years in the making and is probably one of the most adventurous fulfilling things I have done.”
She spoke further that she felt blessed and honoured not only to be making debut as a lead actor but to have also executively produced the film.
“I honestly can’t wait to take you guys along with me on the next phase of my life and art…I’m just getting started,” said Savage.
