In separate releases signed by the Ogun and Ekiti States Branch Controllers, Ayobami L. Subaru (Ogun State) and Mrs. T.A.Y Lawson (Ekiti State), WAEC expressed concern for the unions and Nigerians but emphasized that the ongoing international examination should not put them at a disadvantage.
WAEC urged principals, supervisors, parents, candidates, and the public to take note and make necessary arrangements for candidates to sit for the exams as scheduled.
The NLC and TUC had called for an indefinite strike starting June 3, 2024, to protest the proposed minimum wage.
However, representatives of the Federal Government and National Assembly met with NLC and TUC leaders on June 2, 2024, to resolve the issue and avert the strike.
