The National Examinations Council (NECO) has moved against fraudulent practices in the recruitment process of examination Supervisors and assistant supervisors for both the internal and external Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The Council, in its decision, has opted for an online recruitment method to facilitate a hitch-free and smooth service delivery as against the manual method of recruitment.
The Council has embraced the digitalization process in its totality as explained by the Director of Information and Digital Communication of NECO, Azeez Sanni, in a release he signed, adding that the Council would stick to the measure.
As contained in the release, “The process which involves migration from the manual recruitment of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors to an online system would ensure that Supervisors nomination form, appointment letters, and Supervisors e-photo Albums are generated online.”
It added, “The routine swapping of Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors during the examination would be done online.”
According to the release, all interested teachers holding a National Certificate of Education (NCE), Bachelor’s Degree Certificate, Master’s Degree Certificate, Doctoral Degree Certificate, and qualified Professors are eligible to apply as Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for both internal and external BECE or SSCE.
The recruitment process of the Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors, which was facilitated through manual means in the time past, was replete with fraud.
