A Senior Secondary School (SSS1/year 10) Student of Corona Secondary School, Agbara, Oluwateniola Okoya, has emerged winner at an essay competition organized by the Petroleum & Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASAN).
Winning the contest, Okoya pocketed a whopping sum of N1 million, being the cash prize attached to the nationwide competition.
Her tremendous effort saw her pass through the rigorous three stages of the essay competition that also had 932 entries across all the states of the federation.
The strenuous effort of the extraordinary student also manifested as she passed through a Zoom session with judges during the competition.
Of Okoya, Corona school commented that her success not only reflects the exceptional qualities of their students, and the dedication of their teachers, but also the unwavering support of parents, as well as the nurturing environment the school offers.
PENGASSAN National Essay Competition represents a motivating and socially responsible endeavour aimed at fostering the growth of creative writing skills among secondary school students.
