Five Nigerian universities have been selected by the European Union (EU) to receive grants to start Master’s Degree programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The was made known through a release by the EU which disclosed further that the EU Erasmus was targeted at integrating artificial capabilities into embedded systems to enhance skills set for modeling, design and analysis for Engineers.
According to the statement, five Nigerian universities to benefit from the grant are Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU); University of Port Harcourt; University of Abuja; Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU); Michael Okpara University, while the remaining three universities are from Europe.
The statement added that the approval for the grant was facilitated by the EU Culture Executive Agency to establish an international MSc degree programme in embedded Artificial Intelligence as part if its vision for human capacity development in higher institutions.
The statement noted that, the programme which will last for 36 months, is capable of strengthening the Nigerian higher education training curriculum with the state-of-the-art, European standard technology.
