
FUTA PhD Student Awarded Fulbright Foreign Scholarship
Mopelola Dele-Joshua, a doctoral student in the Department of Biochemistry at the School of Life Sciences, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 Fulbright Foreign Student Program award. This prestigious scholarship will support her research in the United States during the 2024/2025 academic year.

Dele-Joshua’s PhD research project, titled โDevelopment of Recombinant Bifunctional Chimeric Enzyme from Bacillus subtilis CFB-09 for Efficient Simultaneous Delignification and Saccharification of Corncob,โ will be conducted in part at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Joint BioEnergy Institute in Emeryville, California.
Emeruwa Delivers Adeyemi Varsity Alumni Lecture
Christian Emeruwa, Ph.D, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Head of Safety and Security based in Cairo, Egypt, recently delivered the alumni lecture for the 60th anniversary of Adeyemi Federal University of Education in Ondo State. According to a report, his lecture focused on the contemporary challenges of leadership, education, and youth/students.

Emeruwa was selected to deliver the lecture by the Adeyemi Federal University of Education Ondo Alumni Association, in collaboration with the university management.
FUTA Alumni Donate Bus, Drilling Rig
Alumni from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) have generously donated a bus and a drilling rig to bolster teaching and research within the department.

This donation was made during the inaugural homecoming and N500M CVE-Equipment Endowment program. The event, themed โBridging the Past and Future: Celebrating Our Civil Engineering Legacy,โ aimed to honor distinguished alumni who have excelled in various fields and to garner support for the department’s future endeavours.
