Mauricio Pochettino is scheduled to meet with Chelsea’s owners and co-sporting directors this week to discuss the club’s plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. According to The Standard, the meeting is not focused on Pochettino’s job security, despite the recent pressure he has faced.
Chelsea recently announced pre-tax losses of ยฃ90.1 million, which is expected to impact their ability to spend in the transfer market.
The club has invested over ยฃ1 billion in transfer fees to build a young squad.
When asked about potential spending, Pochettino told reporters, “I don’t know. I need to be informed. Until today, we haven’t talked about that. Today the club announced the finances.
This afternoon or tomorrow we will talk, and after tomorrow I will be informed for sure. But I don’t know what is going to happen. I only just saw that the club announced it.
But I’ve still not spoken with the owners or the sporting director. I cannot give my opinion on it. I don’t know anything.”
