Expressing why droplets of blood was found in the grave of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, a Nigerian doctor, Chinonso Egemba, known as Aproko Doctor, has said that it could be due to the stoppage in the circulation of blood.
He disclosed this via his microbloggin platform, x formerly Twitter, that when people die, the blood is still there, however circulation has stopped.
He explained further that when a corpse is still being embalmed, the blood is replaced by fluid, but that in the case of Mohbad he was not embalmed, that even if he was embalmed some blood would still be left.

He disclosed that the blood could still be red because of very little air in the compartment underground, “…so it’s possible that the haemoglobin is not exposed enough to change colour to the darker one.”
“Your blood has a red colour because of a compound called haemoglobin. That is what carries oxygen through your body,” he said.
” When blood is exposed to air, the cells that carry this haemoglobin die, and the haemoglobin becomes exposed to air and starts to change colour to a darker one.”
He added that when haemoglobin is being changed to another compound called methemoglobin the blood becomes darker in colour.
He said no one could state why the blood in Mohbad’s grave was much because no one knew whether the singer sustained further injuries, but he recalled that his neck was in an unnatural position to fit in the coffin, explaining, “…it is possible that must have broken his vessels to cause some blood still in the system to leak out.”
However, the doctor stated that people could speculate, and that no one would know more than those who are with the body physically, examining it.
Some Nigerians have alleged fowl play upon sighting fresh blood in the coffin of the late singer when it was exhumed.
It could be recalled that Mohbad’s corpse was exhumed by the police force to carry out an autopsy in a bid to unravelling what could have led to his tragic death.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, has disclosed that the police had concluded the autopsy procedure conducted on the ill-fated Afrobeat sensation.
