The Ogun State Police Command has issued a statement, that the Nollywood actor, Azeez Ijaduade, was hit by a bullet accidentally discharged by a police officer on Sunday. This statement contradicts the report that the actor was shot by a trigger-happy police officer, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
Ijaduade’s colleague, Abiodun Adebanjo, who was on set with him, had broken the news on his Instagram page, calling frantically for help, “Please, we need help in Iperu, my director Azeez Ijaduade…was shot by a Nigerian police personnel.The police who the bullet was reported to have run away, but his colleagues were held. However, he was arrested.
It was reported by the other actors at the scene that Ijaduade was shot in the neck, and that the bullet ripped through his neck coming out through the other side, leaving a hole.Meanwhile, doctors at the hospital said there was no bullet in his neck from the result of the scan carried out on him.
Some of the actors who were also at the scene added that when the bullet hit him, he fell to the ground and started bleeding immediately.The actor was later carried to the General Hospital in Iperu where he was rejected on grounds that there was no police report.
