Poor Living Conditions in UI
Students at the University of Ibadan are facing severe difficulties due to substandard living conditions, a situation that has only been exacerbated by recent increases in tuition fees.
There had been hope among the student body that the hike in fees, instituted by the administration led by Prof Adebowale at the start of the current academic year, would bring improvements to both academic and residential environments.
However, these hopes appear to have been largely dashed.
The ERC, an advocacy group focused on educational rights, has voiced strong criticism over the declining quality of education and living standards at the University of Ibadan, located in Oyo State.
This criticism comes in light of the university’s decision to raise tuition fees, a move that has not led to the anticipated enhancements in student welfare and academic support.
