Unilorin Celebrates First PhD Oral Exam
The time of physically writing exaninations may be coming to an end, as University of Ilorin lecturers from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine defended their PhD Oral Exam.
This is the first time the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin conducted its First Ph.D oral examination in the history of the university.
Professor Olatunde K. Hamza Olabode of the University of Abuja was the external examiner for the examination that took place last Monday, April 8, 2024 in the PG School Virtual Room.
This marks a significant achievement for the faculty and its commitment to research excellence.
UNILAG Second Resumption Date
Though the set date for resumption at University of Lagos is Monday, April 8th, 2024 according to academic calendar, the students have yet to fully returned back to school because of public holiday declared by the federal government.
As of now, there has not been any serious activities going on in the school until the holidays are over.
However, the semester programmes remain unchanged as many students still prefer to stay at home to rest for a few weeks.
The main school activities are anticipated to commence on April 15th instead.
UI Students’ Union Rejects Tuition Hike for Fresh Students
There are indications that University of Ibadan may ‘boil’ in the next few weeks. Why is that going to be so? The executive council of the students’ union, University of Ibadan has rejected hike in tuition fee.
The Council demanded that the increment should immediately be reverted to the status quo and requested a meeting with the university management towards resolving this issue.
The University of Ibadan Students’ Union Executive Council is led by Samuel Samson Tobiloba who condemned the hike in tuition by 750 per cent for new students. This is a brewing crisis for the university community.
